Rectangular pendant in 18K gold.
Restoration period, Paris hallmark 1819-1838.
It opens hinged on an openwork grid decorated with floral foliage.
It contained at the time a small sponge soaked in ammoniated salts from where its name of Vinaigrette.
Subsequently, the ladies deposited perfumes there to escape the bad ambient smells of the streets.
The lid is centered with a three-layer cameo decorated with an antique-style woman's profile.
The sides are decorated with arabesques.
