    Né en 1840 / Mort en 1916 .Peintre de paysages , paysages d'eau .Elève de Camille Corot et de Louis Français , Louis Aimé JAPY expose au Salon à partir de 1864 , des paysages fins et délicats , effleurés d'une lumière à la fois transparente et subtile . Un voyage au début de sa carrière en Italie inspirera à Louis Aimé JAPY plusieurs sujets de tableaux dont des peintures de la campagne Romaine . Sociétaire des Artistes Français en 1883 , médaille en 1870 , deuxième classe en 1873 , médaille d'argent en 1889 et en 1900 à l'occasion de l'Exposition Universelle , Louis Aimé JAPY traduit avec beaucoup de sensibilité la nature de l'île de France , du finistère , de Picardie et de Franche-Comté
