The bronze is signed on the back and in hollow: F.Barbedienne.
Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1882) was a French industrialist and a great bronzemaker of his time, he created and directed one of the most important art foundries of the XIXth century, he became the official supplier of the emperor Napoleon III and the empress Eugenie.
It bears the stamp: "A.Collas Réduction mécanique".
