This Vuitton trunk is one of the rarer Louis Vuitton trunks to be offered currently. Indeed , it features the world famous and sought after damier (checkerboard) canvas. Dating to 1889, it is a wonderful example of such luxury trunks. Thanks to its chocolate color leather trim, its solid brass studs, corners, clasps and locks it still shows the same elegance as it did well over 120 years ago and is a testament to the durability of the best trunk maker in the world. Every single stud , its main lock, its clasps as well as its brass side handles are all marked Louis Vuitton. It also still has got its original working key.

It still has hot its original quilting under its lid with the French flag ribban (blue, white and red ) representative of Louis Vuitton production of 1889 commemorating French Revolution's 100th birthday. Please note that there is a large stain .

Then its inside fitting is all original and very complete too.It has got 1 large removable tray then on the top of this one, another one with many compartments and flaps .

It still features its large Louis Vuitton label with its serial number.

Underneath, it has got its zinc bottom that was used to protect steamer trunks from humidity when they were to travel to tropical countries.
