    Description

    Pair of black engravings by Jean LEPAUTRE (1618-1682).
    A draftsman and engraver, he was appointed Engraver Ordinary to King Louis XIV and became a member of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.
    His talent recognized by all, and especially by Colbert, he engraves many plates for The Cabinet of the King, such as the Set of the Cave of Versailles, The feast given at Versailles, The Entertainments given by The King, as well as many engravings of the basins, statues and vases of the park of Versailles.
    Here, example of goldsmithing projects .
    This pair of engravings is in perfect condition, and of great finesse of execution.
