GOSSELIN Antoine, notable cabinetmaker, born in Sarton, near Amiens, in 1731, died in Paris on December 16, 1794. Arriving to settle in the capital, he won the master's degree on July 9, 1752, was a juror of his community from 1772 to 1774, assistant to the trustees in 1777, trustee the following year, and continued to sit in the office of his body, as deputy or administrator, until the Revolution. This manufacturer, who operated a very active workshop, rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, opposite the rue de Charonne, is mentioned with honor in the General Almanac of the Merchants of the Kingdom.
The Christiania Museum in Oslo has a marquetry chest of drawers dating from the end of the time of Louis XV, and whose decorations include a landscape skillfully treated in pretty light tones
