Superb painting by Vincenzo VOLPE (1855-1929) representing an interior scene at the end of the 18th century, original oil on canvas signed lower right with a very beautiful 19th century Louis XVI style frame in gilded wood.

VOLPE is a very active Neapolitan painter, exhibiting at the Milan Academy and at the Nazionale, also in Turin.

he was president of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples from 1915 to 1925, he participated in the major exhibitions of his time, both in Italy and abroad (Brussels, Vienna, Berlin, Madrid, Buenos Aires).
