The Berain-style decor comes from the eponymous Ornamentalist, illustrious "Draftsman of the Bedroom and the Cabinet" of Louis XIV.
He is inspired by the ancient grotesques brought back into fashion by Raphael, to create decorations, architecture on colonettes, decorated with birds, bouquets or trophies, in the middle of which fantastic animals evolve, characters from the Commedia dell'arte...
We find this decoration, in the earthenware of Moustiers, the decorations of tapestries of Beauvais
