Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was a student of the Brussels Academy and the School of Fine Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris obtaining an honorable mention in 1904. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS worked mainly in France, painting seascapes, views of ports and the banks of the Seine in Paris. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was particularly sensitive to the atmosphere of small fishing ports that he painted with precise realism. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS reports from a stay in Holland landscapes where he lyrically plays with light and water.
