"postma Cornelius Or Kornelis (born In 1903) Dutch School-Surrealist Painting Dated 1951"
Surrealist landscape with flute dated 1951
Oil on cardboard signed and dated at the bottom right.
An unusual object, a letter, a key, etc ..., here a flute, arose in the middle of an invented landscape, making it seem to the Surrealists.
From 1955 to 1965, he exhibited at the Autumn Salons, Comparisons of May and at the Surrealist exhibition (Charpentier Gallery).
he was linked to Kisling, Derain, Dunoyer de Segonzac, Zadkine, Max Jacob and especially Jacques Prévert who wrote two poems inspired by his paintings.
We also owe him many illustrations.
He will divide his life between France and Holland.
In 1970 a personal exhibition was dedicated to him in Paris
