    Léon RICHET ( 1847 / 1907 )Peintre de scènes de genre , paysages animés , paysages , paysages d'eau , natures mortes , pastelliste .Léon RICHET fut l'élève de Ambroise Détrez à l'Académie de Valenciennes , puis de Narcisse Diaz , de Jules Lefebvre et de Gustave Boulanger à Paris .Jeune, Léon Richet suit un moment, les cours de dessin et de peinture professés aux Ecoles Académiques de Valenciennes par M. Ambroise Détrez, un ancien élève de Léon Cogniet, qui a succédé à Julien Sotier. Il est nommé en 1879 professeur au Lycée de Valenciennes.A Paris , il se lie d'affection avec le peintre valenciennoisTeinturier et devient l'élève de Jules Lefebvre et surtout le disciple Diaz de la Pena avec qui il collabore parfois ( on rencontre des toiles portant leurs deux signatures), il est audacieux comme lui dans sa manière émaillée de traiter les reflets de la lumière dans l'eau et les effets du soleil dans les nuages.Léon Richet participe au Salon des Artistes Français à partir de 1869 . Il y obtient une mention honorable en 1885 , une deuxième médaille en 1888 , une médaille de deuxième classe en 1901 , dès lors il est exempt de concours et proposé pour la croix de la Légion d'Honneur.Richet est surtout un peintre assidu de la forêt de Fontainebleau. Son tableau "une route de la forêt de Fontainebleau", très admiré, attire l'attention du public sur lui. Il a exposé aux salons organisés par la Société des Artistes Français de 1880 à 1906Léon Richet fait parti des paysagistes représentant le mieux l'Ecole de Barbizon avec parfois une manière particulièrement novatrice , voire lyrique , dans le traitement de la lumière du ciel et les reflets dans l'eau . Il peint également en Normandie , en Picardie et dans le Bourbonnais
