    Amusing pair of dogs sitting opposite each other, in polychrome porcelain and gold by STAFFORDSHIRE.

    Very elegant, they wear a golden necklace adorned with a charm padlock.

    Staffordshire dogs were one of the most popular decorative objects in England and Scotland in the 19th century.

    Always in pairs, most often they are on the fireplace.

    But there are some legends ...

    The dogs would most often represent those of Queen Victoria.

    Placed on the window of a house, depending on their position, they would indicate either the presence or the absence of the Master of the place ... unless they are a message for a loved one, outside of the House...
