Silversmith : BOIN TABURET, PARIS

BIOGRAPHY The two goldsmiths Georges Boin and his son-in-law Emile Taburet create the House Boin-Taburet about 1875. They realize many pieces of silverware inspired by the magnificent services of the Eighteenth century. For his first exhibition in Paris in 1878, Georges Boin presents a service of toiletries inspired by the work of Pierre Germain. For the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris, he is responsible for many surtouts of which one, executed after designs by the famous artist and craftsman Just-Aurèle Meissonnier ; as well as tea-style Louis XIV and Louis XVI. It also comes with a soup tureen and its platter after Pierre Germain for the Jockey-club. The House Boin-taburet participates in multiple fairs and exhibitions, especially those of 1878, 1889, and 1900. It will as well contribute to the revival of the goldsmith's art, French-19th.
